Affordable Entry Level 3 Tabs from GAF: GAF after it’s merger with Elk Roofing products has become the largest shingle manufacturer in North America and a powerhouse in the industry today. Finding a GAF distributor is quite easy as they have a vast contractor network and the supply warehouses to back them up. Like the other big roofing manufacturers they still offer these 3 tab shingles that offer a traditional look with bottom dollar pricing. Both iterations come with 3 Tab fiberglass construction and install the same way. The primary difference is the 30 Year Marquis WeatherMax gives you an additional 5 Year of pro-rated warranty coverage. We would be amazed if you actually got to see any benefit out of this as typical nationwide failures of this type of shingle usually occur in the 15-17 year range anyway. Also, in general it seems as if the color options on this shingle are becoming more limited and are certainly less vast then it’s closest competitors the Certainteed XT’s and Owens Corning Supreme shingles.

These are pretty good no great not horrible but for the price they aren’t too bad.
20 Year s on our HAF three tab shingled roof and still going strong!
Seem pretty good to me…. I think some people on here are just whiners, these are ENTRY LEVEL cheap for a reason
Not very good at all, I think our builder pulled one over on us when he put this on, we are replacing them 12 years later. That 25 year shingle warranty is nothing GAF wouldn’t do a thing, but to be fair someone told us we should have had a ridgevent put in.
