Summary
One of the best tab style shingles on the market(Actually 4-tbs). With the variance in the width of the tabs a unique design is made. At 235lbs per square these are tough and thick shingles as well. A more classic design than dimensional's at a fair price.

Are Hatteras Shingles a Good Value?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder on this one. With few colors hope that there is something you want. We really like the uniqueness of the design with 3 tabs and the color blending on each tab makes them look more varied kind of like slate tiles. That being said they are similar to a cheaper Three Tab and many people will not know what they are looking at when they encounter this particular shingle.
2002 I put up Certeed Hatteries windswept gray. My house in on the coast of NC. Each year I have had a roofer repair shingles that have blown off my roof. I wish I had requested the company to come out to inspect my roof. I am not certain why there has been a problem.
I love my roof done with Hatteras shingles. I had properly installed 3 tab shingles that kept blowing off my roof. These look similar to 3-tab so I could have them on my townhouse roof. I’ve been extremely pleased with them–none have come loose, the blue looks great on my blue townhouse and they are wearing extremely well.
