Wide Use Dimensional Shingle:  Architectural or dimensional shingles such as these have quickly become the most popular asphalt based shingle on the market. Certainteed Solaris Platinum Highest Solar reflectivity available at 40% with a limited color palette of light yet unique options.
Certainteed Landmark IR Meant to withstand impacts such as hail and falling debris this is a slightly tougher iteration of standard Landmark with a more limited color range.
Certainteed Landmark TL Super tough patented 3 layer laminate construction with a HUGE color range. VERY thick and heavy shingle for permanent application.

Pros

Very easily obtainable if you live anywhere near places they sell shingles there is a high likelihood you will be able to find them. Relatively simple to install and a great value line shingle all the way up to a premium shingle in the better iterations. Offers a range of options for those budget conscious or those seeking a premium option.

Cons

If you or your contractor always installed three tab shingles these will present some newer challenges. You must buy different shingles for use as cap shingles. They are sensitive to proper ventilation standards. Harder to cut through due to the extra weight of the shingle and profile. In the cheaper lines many consumers have experienced failure in the first 10 years.
